NRMCA’s Digital Transformation

While pricing power will always be king, the concrete industry is making room for a significant new impact: technology. The ability to leverage technology to make work and transactions easier for customers is critical to becoming the least hassle supplier (LHS) in competitive markets. Being known as an LHS supplier matters very much in today’s market, and it may be the key to survival in down markets. To help ready mix producers achieve LHS status, the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association recently launched the Digital Transformation and Process Improvement Task Group. The goal of the task group is to promote advances for new things like eTicketing/eSignature, online order requests and the host of activities that make up the information technology (IT) backbone of a modern materials producer. In his latest Tech Trends column for Concrete Products magazine, BCMI’s Craig Yeack catches up with task group co-chairs Luis Angulo, chief information officer (CIO) of CalPortland Co., and Keith Onchuck, CIO of Ozinga.
